Natasha reacts to suspension: this injustice cannot be supported, leaves the room while the Senate delivers its six -month suspension

The Senate had slammed a six-month suspension on Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan, consequent to the recommendation of the ethical panel.

But the Senator of Defiantl Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan, representing Kogi Central, came out of the Chamber by declaring: “This injustice cannot be supported”.

She is also in charge of offering written excuses regarding her accusations against the president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio.

The recommendation was announced on Thursday during the plenary by Senator Neda Imasuen (LP, Edo South), president of the Senate Ethics Committee, the Code of Conduct and Public Petitions.

The Senate also rejected the statements of Akpoti-Auduaghan according to which Akpabio had silenced him in the room, labeling the accusations as unfounded and frivolous.

Other key recommendations include: a suspension of six months from all legislative activities, starting from March 6, 2025; immediate return of all the properties of the Senate in his possession; A directive that prohibits its presence inside or close to the legislative chamber during the suspension period.
