Navy found 8 illegal bunkering sites on Ondo

The Nigerian Navy has found eight illegal bunkering sites in the Obe-Akilboye sea side in the area of the ILAJE local government at Ondo State.

Commander, Pangkalan Operational Operations (FOB), Igbokoda, Captain Aliyu Usman, revealed this to journalists on Tuesday at Igbokoda.

He said the operation against maritime crime, which was executed by Pangkalan personnel, took place around 3:00 on Tuesday.

Usman said: “The discovery was possible through a ‘strong intelligence network’ and the vigilance of navy personnel in their struggle against maritime crimes, illegality and economic sabotage in their operating territory.

“After intelligence was received about illegal purification camps, the Base Response Team that was placed at the nearest Navy Security Post was immediately mobilized to conduct raids.”
