NEC approved the initiative to revive the Nigerian economy

The National Economic Council (NEC) has approved the initiative of the Main Economic Awakening, including the creation of the National Imperative Green Project (GIP) office in Abuja and the Regional Office in six geopolitical zones of the country

The council also approved the formal launch of the national agribusiness policy mechanism.

In his speech at the 149th board meeting on Thursday in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima urged members to show courage in making decisions.

He encouraged members to fight the great rhetoric and embrace the doubling meaningful reform work.

VP said: “This nation is watching. Citizens are looking for not speeches, but tangible results. This council must remain a forum for ideas that encourage national progress.

He urged members to rise on politics and regionalism to focus on building a country that works for all.

Shettima reminded members that they were present not for routine, but to deal with the urgent reality faced by Nigerians.

He also encouraged them to surpass the crisis response and vice versa help designing a sustainable national future.

Shettima added: “Governance is not a stage for promises, but a solemn delivery business.

“The task is very broad but familiar. At our last meeting, we launched a brave reform and updated our national tasks.

“Today, we returned with clarity and determination. We are not just respondents; we are a sustainable future architect.”

In the Cotton Development, Textile and Clothing Development Council, Shettima said that his party was in line with the economic revival of the Tinubu Bola President.

He described the initiative as a step to revive sectors that had supported the economy and wearing people.
