In a statement on Tuesday, Nema said that the accident occurred when an individual who wore an improvised explosive device (IED) attempted to infiltrate the canton of the Mogadishu army.

The device exploded during the attempt, killing the bomber on the spot and injuring a passerby.

NEMA said she was notified of the explosion at 13:47 on Monday. Subsequently, a team was immediately activated to coordinate the answer.
