Netizens react as SSA Tinubu appoints ‘angry’ playwright Umar Bush as his own SA

The internet went wild after it emerged that the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Mohammed Abba Isa, had appointed Alhaji Umar Bush, a Hausa showman known for his ‘anger’ and hurling insults at others, as his own Special Assistant.

According to the appointment letter from the SSA to Bush, also known as ‘Angry Bird’, he is tasked with managing media promotions, ensuring good public relations, and facilitating entertainment initiatives for the Isa office.

This appointment is valid for two years from July 10, 2024, and can be extended after satisfactory performance for the next term.

However, Bush’s appointment was not well received by some social media users who considered it a misplaced priority and an unnecessary and impulsive appointment.

Those who agree with this school of thought argue that Bush’s charade of practically trashing people shows that he is not adding anything important to society.

A user on X with the handle @el_bonga, in a post, said:

“Umar Bush, whose trademark is raining curses on the internet, was appointed SA for Entertainment while Khalifa Aminu, who created technology to help the blind walk without canes and automatic sprayers for farmers, was ignored.
