NFF promotes Ladan Bosso to U-23 squad and begins search for new U-20 coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has launched a search for a new coach for the Under-20 team following the decision to promote former team coach Ladan Bosso to the Under-23s. Own goal Nigeria.comunderstands.

Bosso, who led the Nigerian team to the quarter-finals of the last U-20 World Cup, has been at the helm since 2020 and will now take on a new role with the NFF keen to address the team’s failure to qualify for the last two Olympic games.

In the past, Nigeria’s U-23 team has won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively at the Olympic Games. The team is considered the most important stage of development for the future players of the Super Eagles.

Bosso is seen as the coach who can end the wait, and the job will also provide the opportunity for some of the players who played for him at Under-20 level to move on to the next stage.

He has already been informed about the situation and the NFF will declare the position vacant for interested coaches to apply for the position and the team will resume camp for the WAFU tournament in two months.
