NGX: Oando, RT Briscoe among top gainers as investors rake in N96 billion

Investors in the Nigerian equity market made a gain of N96 billion at the close of trading on Wednesday.

This follows the growth in stock prices of stocks such as REDSTAREX, OANDO, and RT BRISCOE, among others, on the trading floor today.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, equity capitalization increased to N55.1 trillion from N55.03 trillion recorded by the bourse on Tuesday.

The All Share Index (ASI) also increased to 97,098.98 from 96,928.52 recorded the previous day.

Market breadth was positive as 26 stocks rose and 21 stocks fell, while 68 stocks remained unchanged in 9,744 trades.

REDSTAREX, OANDO and RT BRISCOE led other gainers with share price growth of 10%, 9.98% and 9.90% respectively to close at N4.18, N33.60 and N1.11 from N3.80, N32.60 and N1.01 per share previously.

On the other hand, NEIMETH, HONYFLOUR and SOVRENINS led the other price decliners as they fell by 7.69%, 6.10% and 5.56% respectively to close at N1.80, N3.85 and N0.51 from initial prices of N1.95, N4.10 and N0.54 per share.

On the volume index, ACCESS CORP led the trade with 112 million shares worth N2.1 billion in 665 deals followed by UCAP which traded 74 million shares worth N1.19 billion in 1,424 deals.

GTCO traded 74 million shares worth N3.3 billion in 456 transactions.

On the value index, GTCO recorded the highest value for daily traded shares worth N3.3 billion in 456 transactions followed by ACCESS CORP which traded equities worth N2.1 billion in 665 transactions.

ZENITH BANK traded shares worth N1.31 billion in 469 deals.
