NGX ROUNDUP: Investors gain N2.1tr as equity capitalization reaches N93.2tr

Investors earned N2.1 trillion as equity capitalization reached N93.2 trillion in the just ended trading week.

The market recorded gains across all five trading sessions.

Likewise, the All-Share Index (ASI) appreciated by 2.37% closing the week at 146,988.04 from 143,584.04 points recorded in the previous week.

The Nigerian equity market started the week on Monday, October 6, 2025, on a bullish note as investors gained N786.25 billion at the end of the trading session.

The bullish sentiment continued on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, as investors earned N109.46 billion in five hours.

The market closed on a positive note on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, as investors gained N459.43 billion.

The market closed on a positive note on Thursday, October 9, 2025, as investors gained N307.98 billion.

The equity market closed in the green on Friday, October 10, 2025, as investors gained N497.43 billion.

Meanwhile, the total transactions carried out by investors on the Stock Exchange floor this week were 2.286 billion shares worth N90.280 billion in 138,177 transactions, as opposed to a total of 8.403 billion shares worth N115.501 billion traded last week in 115,801 transactions.

The Financial Services industry (measured by volume) led the activity charts with 1.355 billion shares worth N24.588 billion traded in 59,553 transactions; thus contributing 59.28% and 27.23% respectively to the total volume and value of equity turnover.

The ICT industry followed with 182.822 million shares worth N7.807 billion in 12,597 transactions.

In third position is the Agriculture Industry with a transaction value of 181.501 million shares worth N3.548 billion in 8,924 transactions.

Trading in the top three equities, namely Ellah Lakes Plc, Chams Holding Company Plc and Fidelity Bank Plc (measured by volume), accounted for 430.968 million shares worth N5.597 billion in 10,254 transactions, contributing 18.86% and 6.20% respectively to the total volume and value of equity turnover.

Fifty-one (51) shares appreciated this week, lower than fifty-three (53) shares in the previous week. Forty-one (41) equities experienced price depreciation, lower than forty-three (43) equities in the previous week, while fifty-five (55) equities remained unchanged, higher than fifty-one (51) recorded in the previous week.

Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc. recorded the largest percentage increase in share price, gaining 16.73% followed by Omatek Ventures Plc, which also increased its share price by 12.30%.

Axa Mansard Insurance Plc also increased its share price by 11.81%

On the other hand, LivingTrust Mortgage Bank Plc recorded the largest share price decline by percentage, falling 14.61% followed by Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc, whose share price fell 10.96%.

UH Real Estate Investment Trust Plc also dropped 9.98% in its share price.
