Nigeria, Angola to sign 15 Mou like the 5th Joint Commission begins in Luanda
… as a security list, defense, partnership for migration
Luanda (basic reporter) The fifth session of the Commission for the Bilateral Municipality Nigeria-angola Bilateral (Bejc) began in Luanda, Angola, with expectations of significant economic collaborations between the two nations. The minister of Nigeria for foreign affairs, the white ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu, stressed that the meeting aims to strengthen bilateral relationships and improve mutual interests through various understanding memorandum (Mou).
This was contained in a press declaration signed by Dr. Magnus Eze, special assistant on communication and new media to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the white ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu Tuesday 9 September 2025.
According to the declaration, the mous to be signed covers a series of areas, including: establish the Nigeria-angola commercial council, economic and technical cooperation, fight illegal drug trafficking, the partnership for migration, the renunciation of the visa for the owners of diplomatic passports, cooperation in corrective administration and reforms.
Others are; Technical assistance for labor, tertiary education cooperation, anti -corruption efforts, development of young people, police and safety, cultural exchanges, mutual legal assistance, defense cooperation and intelligence, public communication and media exchanges, minerals and mineral processes, transport of land and health and medical sciences.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu, expressed optimism that the Mou will push bilateral relationships at a higher level, improving economic and social growth and construction of the ability for both countries. The Nigerian delegation is looking forward to presenting several vital issues to consider, including: cooperation in the development of human and natural resources, technical assistance of the workforce, the beginning of the flights of the vectors of the Nigerian airlines to Angola, the exploration of opportunities in the oil and gas sectors, elimination of double taxation and progress on the Memorandum of understanding between the Central Bank of Nigeria and the National Bank of Angola.
However, the Secretary of State Angolan for international cooperation, Domingos Vieira Lopes, welcomed the Nigerian delegation, expressing hope for fruitful results that strengthen the links and diplomatic relationships between the two African nations.
Basic journalists report that the event should conclude on Friday, with the anticipation that the signed Mou will increase bilateral relationships and favor growth and economic development in both countries.
