The Nigerians have dared to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), to arrest former Delta Niger militant leader, the head of the Ekpemupolo government, known as Tompolo, for the alleged incident of Naira’s harassment.
The challenge occurred after a viral video was posted on X (previously Twitter) on Sunday where the former militant was seen spraying naira lumps at an event, an action that had seen many Nigerians including celebrities who were captured and demanded by anti-corruption agents in the past.
In the video posted by X Harrison A user with the handle of @harrecets, the incident occurred during the 54th anniversary of Tompolo which he celebrated in April, where the Delta Niger Chief was seen dancing while a man walked -with a spray of β¦ 1,000 notes in front of him.
Accompanying controversial videos, the posters write, handle EFCC directly:
“This is Tompolo who mutilated Naira. I know your eagle’s eyes will suddenly become blind but I bring this to your attention in public so that the whole world will see you are an agent who is shameless with double standards.”

Other commentators also wondered why the agency did not capture and demanded Tompolo, while others asked if he was above the country’s law.

In 2024, the controversial crossdresser, Idris Olangewaju Okuneye, was also known as Bobrisky, arrested, charged with court and sentenced to six months in prison for abuse Naira.
Other popular celebrities like lagos socialite, emeka okonkwo daniel, popularly known as e-money, was also arrested last by the efcc for allogedly abusing the naira note and defacing foreign currencies by allegedly spraying us Come on Makun (Ay), were arrested and quizzed by the EFCC last week over aliegations relating for spraying currencies.
But with the emergence of Tompolo videos, the Nigerians accused EFCC of being selective or afraid of arresting Tompolo either because of his closeness to the government or the influence he used in the Niger-Delta region, and now challenged the agency to prove his credibility by holding a former militant.
