Nigeria moves to evacuate citizens from Isreal, Iran

Abuja (basic reporter) The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced its plans for the emergency evacuation of the Nigerians blocked in Isreal and Iran.

This was contained in a press declaration issued on Tuesday 17 June by the Ministry spokesperson, Kimiebi IMOMOTIMI Ebienfa

The declaration said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to inform that following the escalation of the crisis between the state of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the federal government is finalizing the agreements for the emergency evacuation of the Nigerians blocked in both countries.

“All affected Nigerian citizens are therefore strongly recommended to respect the necessary security protocols and contact the nearest Nigerian embassy or the recording mission and further instructions.

“The Ministry praises the efforts made by our missions to Tel Aviv, Israel and Tehran, in Iran, for their dedication and commitment to reach the Nigerian community in these difficult times.

“We wish to ensure the general public that the Federal Government of Nigeria remains engaged in the safety and well -being of all its citizens, both at home and abroad, and is working in close coordination with international partners and relevant local authorities to guarantee the timely and safe evacuation of the Nigerians in the affected areas”.

“In the same way, the Nigerian government reiterates its request for immediate termination of hostilities and urges all parties involved in embracing dialogue, respecting international humanitarian law and give priority to the protection of civilians.

“Nigeria is stopped in support of the peaceful resolution of conflicts and reaffirms its long -standing commitment to regional and global peace and stability.

“Further updates will be provided through official channels as operations progress,” concluded the declaration.
