The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has confirmed Nigeria as the host of the Boach Beach Volleyball Championship of Boys and Girls of Cavb U18 of 2025, scheduled in Abuja from 1 to 7.
The president of the Volleyball Commission CAVB Beach, the engineer Musa Nimrod, announced that more than 20 countries have expressed interest in participating in the continental event.
He said that preparations are already underway to guarantee a soft and successful tournament.
“Everything is ready for Nigeria to be the host of the CAVB U18 2025 beach volleyball championship. We have established machinery to ensure that the tournament works without problems,” said Nimrod.
Highlighting Nigeria’s experience in the host of the main volleyball events, Nimrod said: “Nigeria has previously organized Olympic classification twice and a senior championship, but this will be the first time that the country is the host of the U18 tournament.”
He also praised the Federal Government through the National Sports Commission for his support:
“I want to applaud the federal government of Nigeria for creating a conducive environment to prosper sports. This opportunity will give young players a platform to show their talents.”
Looking towards the future, Nimrod expressed his confidence in Nigeria’s ability to organize global tournaments: “We believe that Nigeria is able to organize a professional tour sanctioned by IVFB in the future.”
He concluded reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to be a reliable and cozy host for African nations.
