Nigeria urged cooperation to disrupt terrorist financial networks, travel

Nigeria has called for global cooperation to disrupt the network of financial support and counter terrorist travel in Africa.

Nigeria made a call in his statement at a meeting of senior diplomatic officials from the small group of global coalitions to defeat ISIS/Daesh in Madrid, Spain.

The statement text from the meeting, released by the United States and the Spanish government, was provided for journalists in New York by the US State Department.

It reads: “Nigeria discusses the fields of cooperation with the coalition to disrupt the network of financial support and counter terrorist travel among the sub-regions in the continent.

“Members of the African coalition urged regional initiative to fight ISIS/Daesh affiliation in sub-Sahara Africa.”

To deal with changes in ISIS/Daesh operations and recruitment efforts, the coalition calls for steps to reduce the threats that arise from the use of the internet.

It also discusses how to utilize new technology for the purpose of a terrorist counter.
