Nigeria Women’s Handball Team Moves into Semi-Finals After Win Over North Caledonia

Nigeria’s women’s handball team kicked off their journey in the IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Phase in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with an impressive 28-23 win over Guadalupe on Wednesday.

Under the guidance of Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola, the Nigerian side displayed the same determination that led them to become champions in the IHF Trophy Africa.

They dominated the first half, securing a comfortable 16-9 lead over Guadalupe.

Despite facing a tougher challenge in the second half, Nigeria dug deep and maintained their composure to secure the victory with a final score of 28-23.

Taiwo Babatunde was recognized as the most outstanding player of the match for her stellar performance.

Following this success, the team also secured a spot in the semi-finals of the IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Phase with a commanding 29-14 victory over North Caledonia on Thursday.

With these victories, Nigeria’s women’s handball team has demonstrated their skill and determination on the international stage, setting a strong foundation for their continued success in the tournament.
