Nigerian crude oil output increased to 1.507 million barrels per day (MBPD) in July.

This figure is 0.13 percent higher than 1,505 MBPD recorded in June

It is also the highest output of the country since January.

As a result, the country has exceeded the quota of the Petroleum Exporting Organization (OPEC) for the third time in 2025.

According to the Monthly Cartel Oil Market Report (Momr) released in Vienna, Austria, on Tuesday, OPEC noted that the increase in Nigerian oil output was the highest output since January.

This new figure also marks the third time Nigeria meets the OPEC production quota of 1.5 million barrels per day (BPD) in 2025.

These numbers come from direct communication with Nigerian authority.

With the current level of production, the Global Oil Organization said Nigeria maintains its position as a leading African oil producer, followed by Algeria, which recorded an output of 1.37 million BPD.

Quoting secondary sources, OPEC said “Total production of crude oil DOC averaged 41.94 MB/day in June 2025, which is 335 TB/d higher, ma’am.”

Production of 22 OPEC+ members rose 335,000 BPD in July, with about half of the benefits of coming from Saudi Arabia.

While secondary sources estimate the royal output rose 165,000 BPD to 9,525 million BPD, Saudi Authority told OPEC that they had cut production by 551,000 BPD to 9.2 million BPD.
