The defense headquarters claimed that on Thursday the troops were deployed to various operations theater killing several terrorists throughout the country in August.
Director of Defense Media Operations, Major. Markus Kangye, stated this when giving a briefing to journalists about the Armed Forces Operations on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the troops arrested 85 suspects and rescued 66 hostages last month.
The spokesman added that in the northeast, the Hadin Kai Operations forces killed a number of Boko Haram fighters, arrested 15 suspects, including 13 collaborators, drug shooters and vendors, and rescued eight kidnapped people.
“In northwest, troops neutralize terrorists in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kebbi and Katsina states, arrested 23 suspects and saved 24 people who were kidnapped.

“In the north-middle, the eternal operation forces killing terrorists, arrested 7 criminals and rescued 2 kidnapping victims. Other suspects were arrested with N3 million ransom in Bassa LGA.
“The Wirel Stroke operating forces in Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Kogi and FCT arrested nine extremists and rescued 13 hostages.
“Overall, joint operations in all theater restore a large number of weapons, ammunition, vehicles, motorbikes and explosives.
“During the month of review, troops continue to intensify joint operations aimed at neutralizing threats to national security, restoring stability, and protecting the life and property of citizens,” Kangye said.
