The Nigerian police have extradited the famous cruel Chinese fugitive, Mr. Dai Qisheng, to Beijing in what has been described as an important operation against transnational organized crimes.
High profile repatriation was carried out under the coordination of the Interpol National Center (NCB) in Abuja, in collaboration with NCB Beijing Interpol and the Chinese embassy in Nigeria.
Dai, who was identified as a gang leader sought in Guizhou Province for regulating organized crimes with violence, fled from China in 2024 after the authorities in the Zhijin area issued an arrest warrant. The journey ended on August 8, 2025, when the Interpol operator in Abuja tracked and arrested him. He was flown back to Beijing on August 15 under the framework of the police-to-police cooperation facilitated by Interpol.
Praising this achievement, Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, said the operation underlined the determination of the Nigerian police to fight global crimes.

Community Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, also described development as a demonstration of Nigeria’s readiness to maintain the rule of law through global law enforcement cooperation.
With this successful extradition, the Nigerian police have further strengthened their reputation as a trusted international partner in campaigns around the world against organized crimes.
