Nigerians continue to praise an honest cleaner working at the Kano International Airport after he returned a sum of $10,000 (about N16 million) he found on a plane.
According to a post on X by a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Makama Zagazola, the young man identified as Auwal Dankode, an employee of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, was said to have found the money while cleaning the plane on Wednesday but instead of keeping the money for himself, he decided to return it to his superiors.
Zagazola stated that Thank Youa native of Kode in Kano State, known for his strong fear of God and integrity as investigations continue to identify the owner of the missing money.
βA boy named Auwal Ahmed Dankode, an employee of the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), found $10,000βabout N16 millionβin the plane while cleaning it,β Zagazola wrote.
βAfter finding the money, Auwal immediately reported it to the airline manager to start searching for the rightful owner.
βThe incident occurred at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. Auwal, who hails from Kode in Kano State, is known for his strong fear of God and honesty.
