Nitda, NCS Task Stakeholder On Unity to accelerate the digital economy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (Nita) and Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) have supported a unified approach to accelerate the digital transformation of Nigeria.

They made the call at a 2025 STAKEHOLDER FOR FORUM held in Abuja.

Speaking at the forum, the general manager of Nitda, Kashifu Inuwa, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, director of the management of the interested parties and partnerships underlined that the construction of a digital Nigeria is a task that cannot be achieved in isolation.

He stressed that partnerships are essential to create a digitally enabled nation, stating: “collaboration is the key”.

Inuwa highlighted the pillars of the renewed strategic vision of the agency, the strategic roadmap and the action plan (SRAP 2.0) 2024-2027. This roadmap is concentrated on key areas such as digital literacy and the cultivation of talents, the construction of a solid technological research ecosystem and the strengthening of IT security and digital trust. The DG specifically invited all the parties interested in joining the digital literacy initiatives during Nita to ensure that growth in the digital economy is inclusive.

The forum, organized by Nitda in collaboration with the NCS, Abuja Chapter, was a platform for IT professionals, politicians and leaders in the sector to deliberate on strategies to promote a coherent and unified technological ecosystem.

John Odumesi, president of the NCS Abuja chapter, explained that the event was designed for the interested parties of “co-creating and discussing constructively for a better Nigeria”, noting that the synergy is essential to accelerate innovation and national development.

In her main speech, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, a member of the Nigeria Computer Society and former federal permanent secretary, praised Nita for the timely and innovative initiative. Speaking on the topic, “align the perspectives, build synergies: to forge an Ecosystem It unified for national growth”, offered a historical perspective on the IT journey of Nigeria.

Mrs. Odusote strengthened the theme, underlining the importance of cooperation with respect to competition, saying: “progress in IT space cannot be achieved in silos”. We have to complete each other instead of competing if we want to make our national aspirations. ”

The event ended with a strong consent, soliciting the interested parties of the government, industry and academic world to deepen their collaborative efforts and align strategies to advance the objectives of the digital economy of Nigeria.
