NNPP urges Nigerians to reject vote buying and selling in the 2027 elections

The New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has urged Nigerians to reject vote buying and political inducements in the 2027 elections.

NNPP Head of Communications and Strategy, Dr. Eugene Nweke, made the call in an Easter message on Saturday in Lagos.

Nweke said the message was a warning to all Nigerians—leaders and citizens—as the country gradually approaches the 2027 elections.

NNPP officials noted that the culture of immediate gratification in leadership and followership had significantly undermined political and national development.

He said Nigerians must hold leaders accountable for their past and current performance, address ethnic, religious and group sentiments, and demand issue-based campaigns and policy-based debates.

“Every vote cast must reflect a commitment to the future—not compromise for temporary gain. Norway chose discipline over indulgence, foresight over immediacy, and legacy over comfort, Nigeria is now at the same crossroads.

“The future of our nation depends on this, hard work and respect for the rule of law. There is hope for Nigeria that is greater than our dreams. Yes, we can, God help us.”

Nweke said Nigeria must immediately recalibrate its system of governance and economic management by strengthening national wealth and savings mechanisms.
