No ‘Chelle-and’! Chan Eagles not impressive in defeat against Senegal

Nigeria suffered a 1-0 defeat for the Senegal defenders in their departure from the Opening Group in the 2024 African Nations Championship (Chan).

Christian Gomis scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute, addressing a defensive period of the super -eagles background to deliver to Senegal the three points at the Amaan stadium.

The Eagles fought to create clear opportunities throughout the contest and achieved only an attempt at Target in 90 minutes.

Previously, the first game of the group between Congo and Sudan ended without goals, a result that leaves Nigeria at the bottom of group D after day 1.

Nigeria will return to action next Tuesday against Sudan, knowing that anything less than a victory could complicate its possibilities of progression.
