No injunction granted against Mark, Aregbesola – ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) clarified that no court has issued the injunction that prevents Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from acting as national president of the party and national secretary.

This is in contrast with some reports in the media, stating that Abuja’s High Federal Court had made an order that prevents the duo from acting respectively as president and interim secretary of ADC.

The party made the clarification in the declaration of its secretary of national advertising, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, Thursday in Abuja.

The complete declaration stated: “The ADC wishes to make the record clear regarding the false reports that currently circulate in the media on the recent sentence of the Federal Court, Abuja, concerning the leadership of our large party.

“Contrary to some misleading publications, the Court has not issued any restrictive and Aregbesola order from working as national president and national secretary of the ADC, respectively,” he said.

Abdullahi said that instead, the Court refused the ex-Parte application submitted by Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe and directed that the question proceeds with the right trial.

“The sentence, pronounced by the Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite on September 4th, clearly declared the following four orders:

“That the question of the plaintiff/applicant is dated and submitted on September 2, is rejected.

“That the complaint/applicant is aimed at taking into consideration the defendants.

“That the defendants/interviewees are ordered to appear before this honorable Court to demonstrate why the question should not be granted.

“That the case is updated to September 15, 2025, so that the defendants/interviewed show the cause,” he said.

Abdullahi said that the order was duly signed and issued by the judge Nwite, president of the judge, and certified by Kasope Kafayat Bola, Registration of the Federal High Court.

He said that not having prevented the insec from recognizing the change of leadership in the Adc, political Jobbers were now resorting to false news.

This second Abdullahi shows that these destabilization agents will not stop in front of anything, including misrepresented the judgments of the court, in their desperate efforts to sow confusion and further undermine the opposition parties.

“In this regard, the leadership of the ADC urges the members of the press and the public general to be vigilant and be wary of false news and inaccurate relationships”.
