Lesotho Head coach, Leslie Notsi sent a strong message to Nigeria ahead of their World Cup qualifier clash this Thursday.
Despite acknowledging his team’s underdog status, Notsi stated that Lesotho is no longer an easy opponent, and that they’re in Uyo for business.
The gaffer highlighted his side’s recent achievements, including reaching the COSAFA Cup final and a close match against Cote D’Ivoire.
“We appreciate the moment and the exposure it brings. Lesotho is no longer a walkover team, and while we respect Nigeria’s history and talent, we are here to compete, not rollover.”
Although Lesotho has suffered three consecutive losses against the Super Eagles, Notsi remains optimistic, hoping to defy the odds.
βI think this game comes at the right moment where weβre saying we should see how we can fare against the best team in Africa.
“Yes we are underdogs, on paper, when you look at Nigeria, having qualified for the World Cup several times and the AFCON, the talents they have playing abroad in the best leagues in Europe, the expectations is itβs going to be a tough encounter for us.β
