Experienced Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has expressed her concern about the dynamics of the Nigerian film business shift, claiming that skills and enthusiasm are increasingly replaced by thin trends.
Thespian award winner lamented in an interview recently that the appearance and modification of cosmetics, rather than originality and commitment to crafts, is now what drives Nollywood.
He claimed that the actor at that time was motivated only by desire and hunger, not by wealth or fame. He remembers how, to turn on the story, they will spend hours – even overnight – without thinking about food or compensation.

Legends such as Sensational Actress Silva and Shola Jobowale’s fiery jokes, according to Akintola, are equally devoted to their work and place the work of art before comfort.
He also lamented the fact that everything had changed since then, with many actors became busier with their appearance, makeup, and clothes – even to do LBWS.
“Nollywood is no longer driven by passion,” Akintola said. “Everyone now seems to focus on BBL and makeup instead of improving their acting skills or telling authentic African stories.”
