NPFL: Ikorodu City, Rivers United Throw Stadium open doors for fans in the first games at home

Ikorodu City FC and Rivers United FC have announced that their first games at home 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will be open to fans for free.

The president of the city of Ikorodu, Sanmi Doherty, in a sincere message for the supporters, expressed his gratitude for the mass support that the club received during his high -flying debut campaign.

He urged fans to replicate the same energy that the club begins its second NPFL season at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

“This club belongs to everyone and we prefer to make this trip with you, our fans, at all extremes of the sand,” said Doherty.

“We want their support as they have done in previous years. Together, we will achieve stability in this second season in the highest category.”

The “Oga Boys” will play their first game at the house of the season on Sunday while looking to build their impressive debut campaign.

Meanwhile, in Port Harcourt, Rivers United has also opened the doors of the Adakiye Amiesimaka stadium for its clash from day 2 against Kwara United.

Rivers’s pride confirmed that the game, scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 4:00 pm, will be free for all fans.

The club urged followers to be large amounts to encourage the team, since they are looking for a strong start in the campaign with the new Finidi George manager.

With both clubs making friendly movements with fans, NPFL followers in Lagos and Port Harcourt are prepared for an exciting weekend of first level football action.
