The Management of the Stars of the Professional League of Nigeria, NPFL, Club Lobi, has discredited the accusations that they sent thugs to attack the players and officials of the club.
The reports appeared on the social networks that the players were attacked during thug training sent by the Club Management.
Lobi’s stars described the accusation as unfounded and false.
“The attention of the Board and the management of the Lobi Stars Football Club has been attracted to the deceptive and disturbing accusations that circulate on social networks, insinuating that the club’s leadership sent thugs to attack their own players and personnel during a training session in the launch of the Government Model School, Makurdi,” says the statement.
“This unfounded accusation is not only false but also completely illogical. What possible gain would be derived from the board led by Dr. Philip Nongu of the orchestration of violence against players who have leaned tirelessly during the whole season?
“How can an administration that has remained committed to the well -being of its players, ensuring that salaries and benefits are paid despite a less than suddenly satisfactory action to damage them? Such hint is not only absurd but also is maliciously manufactured to tarnish the image of the club.
βWhat happened in today’s training session was simply a misunderstanding that involved some club fans in Makurdi, who sought explanations about club performance.
βThe situation, although unfortunate, was quickly controlled by the Board and the Club management, reaffirming its commitment to a peaceful and progressive football environment.
βLobi Stars is still actively competing in the Nigerian Premier Football League and the President’s Federation Cup, and the Management is still focused on ensuring that the team ends the season with a strong note.
“Therefore, it is inconceivable that leadership resorts to such a shameful act against their own players when unity and motivation are more necessary.
“Therefore, the public is urged to ignore these false statements as nothing more than a desperate attempt to inform and deceive.
