Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has given passengers to be aware of cheating order platforms in the system.
The Head of the NRC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Callistus Unyimadu, issued this warning in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said: “The attention of NRC management has been interested in the fraud and invalid platform activities asking for train tickets from community members who are not suspicious through an individual bank account.
“NRC wants to categorize that this platform is not affiliated with the company and whatever payment is made through the channel is carried out at the risk of victims.
“Passengers are strongly advised to stop involved with these fraud sites and not allowed, under any circumstances, paying into personal accounts or not verified for train bookings.”
“To avoid doubts, the only official online booking platform for NRC train services to involve: Warri-Itakpe (Wits) train services: https://nrc-fane.ng
“Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS): https://nrc.tps.ng, Lagos-ibadan Train Service (LITS): https://nrc.gsds.ng.”
NRC spokesman encourages passengers to verify all booking platforms through the official NRC website: www.nrc.gov.ng or by contacting the NRC customer service center.
“Management works closely with relevant security institutions to investigate and bring the people behind the fraud to the court.
“We remain committed to ensuring the safety and satisfaction of all our honorable passengers,” he added.
