The Nigerian Civil and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has raided illegal mining sites and confiscated sand dredging machines in the State of Anambra.
NSCDC Commander in that state, Mr. Olatunde Maku, revealed this to journalists on Monday at AWKA.
He said the site was located in the Omambala River in Ifite-Osta, the area of the Ayamelum regional government in the state.
He added that the operation was part of an ongoing effort by the agency to examine illegal mining in the state.
