NSCDC rescues 2 abandoned children in Osun

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has rescued two children found wandering in Osun and reunited them with their parents.

The NSCDC Commander in the state, Mr. Michael Adaralewa, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Osogbo.

He said the agency’s patrol team rescued a 12-year-old boy who was seen wandering around Lameco area, Osogbo at about 11:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Adaralewa said: “The boy said he ran away from his guardian’s house because he was not being fed enough. He alleged that his guardian only fed him twice a day and he was not satisfied.

“After being reunited with his guardian, it turned out that the child had a high appetite, and no matter how much food was given to him, he still did not feel satisfied.

“On Saturday, another eight-year-old girl was found wandering in Apara Area, Osunjela, Ilesha Road, Osogbo, and was taken to the nearest NSCDC office by a good Samaritan.

“He was then reunited with his parents.”

He said the NSCDC was working with relevant agencies to establish the whereabouts of the three children abducted in August and bring the perpetrators to justice.
