No less than 400 residents in the Central Senatorial District of Ogun benefited from an enhancement initiative facilitated by an ex -legislator, Senator Olugbenga Obadara.
The one -week program, which took place in three locations in Abeokuta, the capital of the state of Ogun, presented intensive formation in the management of cattle, in the elaboration of shea butter and the pig.
According to the organizers, 150 participants received a training on the agriculture of cattle, another 150 were equipped with the knowledge of the processing of kerité butter, while the final lot was trained in pork and equipped with start -up packages.
At the closing ceremony, Senator Obadara reiterated his commitment to the development of the community, stating that his passion for the strengthening of the people of Ogun Central remains unwavering.
“In the last 15 years, I have served the EGBA and I will never be tired of serving. I’m not competing with anyone,” he said.
“This empowerment does not consist in giving people to sell objects, but to equip them with sustainable skills. If you are diligent, you can build a fortune from what you have learned here.”
To kick off their activities, each participant in pork training has received three pigs and feed. Obadara warned the beneficiaries against the sale of animals, exhorting them instead to concentrate on long -term earnings.
He revealed that the goal is to form 1,000 people, with the next phase focused on the production of tic and painting.
“So far we have trained 400 and the next set of 150 will be trained in the production of tic and paint,” he added.
The training was conducted by Magic Touch Business Solution Limited, under the technical supervision of the Federal College of Wildlife Management, New Bussa.
The main consultant, Olajide Ibiboye, expressed optimism that the initiative would reduce unemployment by transforming participants into small -scale entrepreneurs.
“This program does not only concern the start of a company. We are teaching them how to grow and support it,” he said.
“Some of them are already building pens for their animals and planning their commercial operations. These are operations that require minimal space and can start right in their courtyards.”
Ibitoye praised Senator Obadara for vision and invited other Nigerians from the public spirit to support similar empowerment efforts.
A participant, Balogun Adekoyejo Lamidi, described training as an experience that changes life.
“I always had the intention of going to agriculture. I didn’t have time before, but I found time for this five -day program. I learned a lot and I committed myself to putting it in use,” he said.
The initiative is part of the continuous effort of Senator Obadara to raise his electoral college through practical and base -oriented programs aimed at creating jobs and reducing poverty.
