Obidient movements throughout the world have firmly rejected the rumors that showed the impact between the presidential candidates of the Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, and the Acting National Party Chairperson, Senator Nenadi Usman, described the claim as fake and political motivated.
Reacts to media reports that insinuate the rift, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, issued a statement on Wednesday, described the speculation as a propagandist job that was determined to create divisions within the party.
Tanko said: “Rumors that Peter Obi has betrayed Senator Nenadi Usman is fully unfounded. This is a fake narrative sold by the elements of opposition to distract.”
He noted that Obi’s appearance was recently on the campaign flag of the Candidate of Anambra LP Governor, Dr. George Moghalu, should not be misinterpreted, because it is a strategic and principle step.
Tanko clarified: “Your Majesty, Peter Obi, consistently emphasized that he remains a member of the Labor Party under the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman. He has also clearly expressed his support for all those who previously secured party tickets to compete for political positions.”
He further explained that the presence of Obi in Flag-off followed the validation of the Supreme Court for the leadership of Senator Usman, added that the actions of the former Governor in line with his integrity and commitment were famous for the unity of party.

“Don’t forget that His Majesty, Mr. Peter Obi, is a person with integrity, known to keep a promise. His decision to support Dr. George Moghalu, a candidate for the Labor Party Governor for the State of Anambra, reflects the consistency,” Tanko said.
He also stressed that Senator Nenadi Usman and other stakeholders in the Obidient movement were fully aware of Obi’s participation in the event and supported the current party’s track.
Tanko stressed that only the elected representatives and party leaders who spoke authoritatively about internal problems, mark what he described as the departure of the “old political order.”
He urged the community to ignore the full speculation: “Our focus remains on one goal: building a strong movement, a united labor party, and a better Nigeria. That, we will reach.”
