A lively friendly Inter-Club between the prestigious Owerri Fitness Sports Club (Ofc) of Imo State and Alla-Star of Lagos was more than a simple football game: it was a celebration of Campasto and History.
The event, held at the Owerri’s home structure, rekindled nostalgic memories, in particular between two important former players, Demion Ude and Peter Nwadike, who once illuminated the field during their period with Iwuanyanwu National. The duo has been notoriously competed in the 2009 CAF championship, losing the continental glory for a short time after a loss fought to TP Mazembe of the Congo. After their time at the club, Ude and Nwadike continued to pursue successful football careers in Tunisia and South Africa respectively.
The game itself showed a high level of skill and sportiness, with both sides showing fluid gameplay and mutual respect. While the scoreboard remained secondary, the chemistry and the company on display, especially after the game, underlined the long -awaited lasting bonds through the beautiful game.
In the spirit of continuous friendship and healthy competition, both clubs have agreed on a second leg game in Lagos, where the last winner of the friendly series will be decided.
Speaking after the game, the president of the Owerri Fitness Club.
Engen Henry Chukwudi MaduBuko expressed his satisfaction, affirming:
“We welcome games like this, since they help build bridges and create opportunities for the processing of the network among our members. We can’t wait for the return leg to Lagos by the end of the year.
“With the excitement for the revenge, fans and players are anxious to see which part will come to the top from, but above all, they are celebrating the unit and have shared the love for football that events like this inspire.
