Ogu Salisu asks APC to consider Al-Makura as a replacement of Ganduje

A head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the coordination of the President of the Leader States Youth Leaders’ of the deceased Congress for progressive change (CPC), Prince Sani Ogu Salisu, invited the party leadership to return the vacant position of the National President in the North Center area.

Ogu, a former commissioner for youth and sporting development in the state of Kogi, specifically argued that the position was assigned to the state of Nasarawa, where previously it had been divided into areas and micro-zone before the last national convention.

In a declaration that signed personally on Saturday, he underlined the importance of joining the principle of zoning within the party by restoring the position of the national president in the central northern area, stating that the APC would support a crucial aspect of its internal democracy and guaranteeing a fair representation through different regions of the country.

This approach, he supported, would favor the unity and strengthens the possibilities of the party to guarantee landslide victories in the future elections.

Prince Ogu, however, launched his support behind the senator Umaru Tanko al-Makura, who described as a prominent figure from the state of Nasarawa.

“Senator Al-Makura, known for his leadership skills and political acumen, would be an ideal candidate for the position of national president.”

According to Prince Ogu, the Al-Makura appointment would not be only a nod to the principle of division into areas, but also a strategic move to guarantee party cohesion and electoral success in 2027.

“The call to consider the senator al-Makura is rooted in the belief that this appointment will promote the unit within the party.

“Giving the central area of ​​the North the opportunity to drive, the APC would have reiterated its commitment to the inclusiveness and regional representation, which are essential to maintain the harmony of the party and reach the electoral victories.”
