Okonjo-iweala stated Tinubu’s economic reform that moved Nigeria.

He noted that the reforms initiated by the Tinubu government moved in the right direction.

Speaking to the state building correspondent after an honorary visit to the president on Thursday, Okonjo-iweala said discussions with the president who focused on the launch of the Tengara initiative aimed at empowering Nigerian women in the digital export economy.

He added that Female exporter funds for the digital economyManaged together by the WTO and the International Trade Center (ITC) in Geneva, launched on the previous day with the support of the First Lady Nigeria.

This initiative, he said, was designed to help female entrepreneurs face economic challenges, create jobs, and expand their businesses.

“Nigeria competed and appeared as one of only four countries that were chosen globally for this new initiative,” Okonjo-iweala said.

“Of the 67,000 Nigerian women who proposed, 146 succeeded. Sixteen of them, have run an established business, will benefit from our booster track, which includes 18 months of technical and business support.

“The other 100 will receive $ 5,000 with 12 months of business guidance to help them start or the scale of their company.”

He praised the Ministry of Trade and Federal Investment and the Nigerian Export Promotion Board for their role in fighting for projects in Nigeria, adding that the purpose of the program was to put more money into the household and improve the country’s economy through the business led by women.

In economic situation, the Head of the WTO praised the Tinubu administration for taking decisive steps to restore stability.

“We think the president and his team have worked hard to stabilize the economy. You cannot improve the economy unless it is stable. Reformation is in the right direction,” he said.

Okonjo-iweala, however, emphasizes the need to complete stability with strong growth and social protection steps.

“What is needed next is growth,” said the Head of WTO.
