The Governor on Monday Okpebholo of the state of Edo warned the presidential candidate of the 2023 Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, not to visit the South-South state without informing him.
Okpebholo said he could no longer guarantee Obi’s security in the state.
“His security cannot be guaranteed. We are serious. Whatever happens to him when he arrives in Edo’s state, he will take it.”
The Governor spoke to Uromi, headquarters of the local government of the North East of Esan, while he received Marcus Oonobun, the legislator who represents Esan West/Igueben/Central to the Chamber of Representatives, who deserted from the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) to the Congress All Progressive (APC).
Okpebholo reiterated that the safety of OBI in Edo was not guaranteed, insisting on the fact that the former governor of the state of anmber should take what happened to him every time he (Obi) visits Edo without informing him.
The governor said it was serious about what he said.
“I am sending him a direct message. He cannot come to Edo without telling me. A new sheriff is in the city.
“His security cannot be guaranteed. We are seriously on the regard. Whatever happens to him when he arrives in Edo’s state, he will take it. He came the other day and donated N15 million. When he left after giving the money, there was crises and three people died in Benin. Say to Obi who should not come to Edo without telling me”.
