Omased is combined with Osun 2026 Governorship race

The former deputy governor of the state of Osun, the senator Iyiola omased, has officially announced his intention to contest the elections of the governoring of 2026 under the banner of the Congress All Progressives (APC).

Homisore made the declaration on Saturday through a post on his official management of X (previously Twitter), where he also revealed that his formal declaration of the campaign would take place on October 7, 2025, at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo, the capital of the State.

He revealed that the event will be held under the theme “Fix The Broken, Restore Our Dreams”, describing it as the beginning of what he called “Osun Rescue Mission 2026”.

The former legislator appealed to the party’s faithful and the residents of the state to join him at the declaration ceremony, expressing optimism on the fact that Osun’s future can be reconstructed through collective effort and renewed leadership.

“My beloved people of the State of Osun, after a profound reflection and large consultations, I decided to formally declare my intention to contest the governor of the state of Osun in 2026 under our large party, the all progressive Congress, APC,” said Homisore.

“This is not just my mission; it is collective. I strongly believe that together we can restore hope, strengthen governance and provide a brighter future for every son and daughter of Osun.”

Omesor was deputy governor between 1999 and 2003 under the Governor Bisi Akande.
