Former Everton star Michael Ball believes Amadou Onana is perfect for Aston Villa.
Let’s remember that the Belgian scored goals in his first three games at his new club and has been excellent in midfield.
However, the 23-year-old has been criticised for his attitude when he was an Everton player.

Former Toffees star Michael Ball wrote in the Liverpool Echo as his old side prepare to face Villa on Saturday: “I’m looking forward to seeing Tim Iroegbunam and Amadou Onana go head to head because, despite their lack of experience and respective price tags, the new boy has already shown more at Everton than Onana ever did. Onana is a fantastic player but it just seemed like the wrong team at the wrong time for him and he just didn’t fit in.
βTim will want to go back to his old club and prove him right and say, βyou shouldnβt have sold meβ. We know Onanaβs strengths β heβs powerful and will want to control the game by taking the ball early on β but we also know his weaknesses, so can we exploit them? He can switch off, he doesnβt like to track back, he can be careless in possession at times and he will take his chances.
βOnana came in with a lot of swagger about where he wanted to be in his football career, but he didnβt quite reach the heights that were expected of him, perhaps due to a combination of how we played and his style not being quite suited to the system. Struggling near the bottom of the table probably didnβt allow him to get the best out of himself.β
