For the second time this month, the Petroleum Dangote Petroleum and Petrochemicals factory has reviewed the cost of ex-depot gasoline to ₦ 835 per liter.
The $ 20BN Lagos -based refinery tells Slash marketers and customers in the notification posted on the official X platform on Wednesday.
In a notification entitled: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a reduction in gasoline prices” Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Group noted that the reduction began in effect starting Wednesday.
The sound: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery is proud to announce the reduction in the price of Gantry Spirit Motor Premium (PMS), commonly known as gasoline, from N865 to N835, effective from Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
This marks a second price reduction within a week. High -quality dangote gasoline will now be available at the following prices at all our partner retail outlets: 2 main partners, including MRS, AP (Ardova), Heyden, Energy Optima, Hyde and Tecno Oil, will offer N890 per liter, per liter N890 per liter, down from the N920 in Lagos. In northwest and north-middle, the price will be the N910 per liter, derived from the N940.
“This price reduction reiterates our commitment to provide high quality gasoline at an affordable price, benefit consumers throughout the country. In addition, we work collaboratively with our partners to ensure fair reflections from this price reduction.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery is consistently working to reduce the price of gasoline and other processed oil products, ensuring sustainable benefits of Nigerian consumers. For example, in February, the refineries reduced the price twice the N125.
“In addition, products such as Diesel and Liquid Oil Gas (LPG) have also experienced a significant price decline due to sustainable refinery efforts. We anticipate that the latest reduction in this PMS price will produce positive ripple effects in all economic sectors, providing reliefs that are needed for consumers and contributing broader economic growth, especially.
“The dangote oil refinery remains steadfast in its commitment to ensure the supply of stable premium quality oil products, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand, along with a surplus for exports. This strategy is designed to support domestic market stability while also contributing to the growth of Nigerian foreign exchange reserves.
“In addition, Dangote Petroleum Refinery calls on industry stakeholders, including marketers and distributors, to continue to find their products from refineries, ensuring that the benefits of this price reduction are fully realized throughout the country.”
Price reduction by a private refinery attended a meeting between representatives from Dangote Refinery and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, last week.
At the end of the meeting, the government said Naira-Fror-Prude was still valid and that the initiative was not a temporary action but “The main policy directions designed to support sustainable local purification.”
