Once again, Kwankwaso talks about “Torning to APC”

The former governor of the state of Kano and the presidential candidate of 2023 of the new Nigeria People’s Party (Nnpp), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has outlined rigorous conditions to reunite with the all progressive Congress (APC).

Speaking to a meeting in his residence in Kano, Kwankwaso said that any alliance with the party in power must respect the structures and interests of both Nnpp and his political movement, Kwankwasiyya.

“Those who ask us to join the APC, we agreed to unite, but only on a clear agreement that protects and respects the interests of my party, nnpp, and my political movement, Kwankwasiyya. We will not allow anyone to use us and later download us,” he said.

Kwankwaso recalled his role as one of the founding members of the APC, underlining that despite the lasting persecution during the previous administration, his contributions were ignored when the party has assumed power.

“We were among the founding fathers of the APC and we underwent a significant persecution from the security agencies. However, when the party took power, we did not receive any recognition simply because we were not coming from their original faction,” he said.

The former defense minister claimed that he and his supporters were not desperate to leave the NNPP, but they would have taken into consideration the alliances with the APC or the PDP if concrete and transparent agreements were reached.

“We are not in a hurry to leave the nnpp; we are enjoying the tranquility. But if there will be a political alliance that will not disappoint us as in the past, we are open to it. Even if it is the PDP, provided that the agreement is made public and respected,” added Kwankwaso.
