ONSA rejects the requests of El-Roma of redemption payments to the bandits …

The National Security Adviser (ONSA) Office rejected the accusations from the former governor of the State of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, according to which the Federal Government offers payments and incentives to the bandits.

In a press declaration issued on Monday in Abuja, Onsa described the statements made by El-Ruphai during a Sunday television interview as “without foundation” and contrary to the verifiable facts.

“At no time the ONSA, or any Government arm pursuant to this administration, engaged in redemption payments or incentives for criminals”, reads the declaration, adding that the government has constantly warned the Nigerians to pay the payment of the redemption.

According to Onsa, the strategy of the Federal Government combines decisive military operations with the commitment of the community, a double approach approach has brought a peace relating to the communities of Kaduna once devastated by insecurity, including Igabi, Bernin Gwari and Giwa.

The declaration has highlighted several recent successes of security, including the elimination of the famous leaders of bandits such as Boderi, Baleri, Sani Yellow Janburos, Buhari and Boka, as well as the arrest of the Ansaru commanders who had previously established Kaduna bases.

“These successes had a cost, with some of our courageous officers who paid the supreme price,” Outlo observed.

“For a former governor denying these sacrifices to national television is both unfair and deeply offensive to the memories of our security staff.”

The NSA office urged El-Roma and other political figures to avoid dragging national security institutions in partisan disputes, underlining that the fight against Banditi should be treated as a collective national effort, not a tool for political score.

The declaration was signed by Zakari Mijinyawa on behalf of the office of the national security consultant.
