A magistrate court sitting in Ikorodu, in the state of Lagos, has ordered a deossiribonucleic acid test (DNA) to be conducted to determine Liam’s paternity, the only son of the late Nigerian singer, Ileroluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The order, granted on Tuesday, followed a question from the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, who insisted on the fact that a paternity test was necessary to establish if Liam is truly the biological son of Mohbad.
The president of the chasm, Adefisoye Sonuga, established that the test must be performed in a recognized and accredited medical structure within Nigeria or abroad.
According to the courts of the court, Mohbad’s widow, Mrs. Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as an interviewed.
However, his lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, did not oppose the question, pushing the court to guarantee the request.
In the sentence, the Court directed that two DNA tests were conducted: one in Nigeria and another outside the country.
He also ordered that both sides or their representatives must be present during the sample collection.
The Court also enabled the Chief Medical Officer or the pathologist at the Military Hospital of Yaba, Lagos, where the remains of Mohbad are maintained, to extract fabrics, hair or other samples required for the test.
Aloba, through his advice, Agostino Adegbemi from the Chambers of Dr. Wahab Shitt (San) & Co., claimed that the clarification was crucial, given the implications for the well -being of the child and the legal responsibilities of his mother.
Judge Sonuga postponed the matter until 11 November 2025, for further procedures.
Mohbad, a former signature of Marlian Records, died in controversial circumstances in September 2023, unleashing protests at national level, investigations and asks for justice.
