Osun Gov Adeleke threatened to overthrow the king if violence increased

Ademola Governor Adeleke has issued a stern warning to traditional rulers in Ifon, Erin Osun, and the Ilobu community, emphasizing that every failure to maintain current peace and de-esecalation of tension will produce decisive state actions.

Governor’s warning appears amid the attack report planned by unknown groups who want to re -turn the conflict in the affected area.

“In the midst of Sallah’s celebration, I received a report about several people who planned other conflict rounds around Ifon, Ilobu, and City of Erin Osun. Security bodies have intensified supervision to prevent any attacks,” Adeleke said in a press release signed by his spokesman, Olawale Raceed, on Monday.

He further revealed that security operators accelerate the investigation of the numbers involved in the crisis and reiterate that traditional leaders who have committed to the peace agreement will be held accountable.

“Security bodies also accelerate the interrogation of tribal chiefs and actors in conflict. I remind the leaders of these cities that the peace efforts they have signed are not just formalities. They will be held accountable before the law,” he added.

Governor Adeleke also confirmed the relaxation of new curfews in the affected areas, quoting humanitarian concerns. However, he warned that every exploitation of this punishment to trigger further violence would result in full recovery at 24 hours.

“The curfew that we relax is in humanitarian reasons. As a loving government, we realize that many innocent people suffer because of the destructive agenda of several elements. Every effort to abuse this adjustment for new violence will cause full refilling from 24 hours,” he said.

In the last warning and deciding, Adeleke threatened to overthrow the traditional rulers under the violence of his leadership that reappeared.

“In addition, I will remove from the office of every traditional ruler where violence is repeated. This size is strongly on the table. The royal father of each city must call their subject to order. I will use a large stick. Enough,” he concluded.
