Oyebanji presented the N415.5bn 2026 budget proposal to the Ekiti Assembly

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday presented the 2026 budget estimate of N415.57 billion to the state House of Assembly.

The Governor, in his remarks at the event in Ado Ekiti, said the 2026 appropriations bill dubbed “Impactful Administration Budget” would consolidate the various achievements recorded by his administration in the last three years.

He added that the appropriations bill is tailored to the completion of all ongoing infrastructure projects in the state.

According to Oyebanji, the budget consists of recurrent expenditure of N221.87 billion, representing 53 per cent, and capital expenditure of N193.70 billion, representing 46 per cent.

He revealed that the proposed 2026 budget was about 11 percent higher than the approved 2025 budget, which was N375.79 billion, with routine expenditure of N252.15 billion, and capital expenditure of N104.51 billion.

The governor stated that the budget will also focus on investment in agriculture and related value chains, and will address wealth creation, as well as community welfare, to further ensure the fulfillment of his administration’s Shared Prosperity agenda.
