In a historical movement aimed at revolutionizing women’s football in NigeriaOyo State officially presented the Pacesetter Queens FC on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at a colorful press conference held at Ibadan.
The birth of the club marks a new bold chapter in sports development and gender inclusion, positioning the state of hear as a pioneer in the promotion of female athletes in the country.

The event, which was attended by the main stakeholders of football, dignitaries and media professionals, said more than just the launch of a football club: showed a strategic vision to raise women’s football to national and international relevance.
Speaking in the presentation, the state of the state of Oyo for young people and sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, accredited the unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde for making the initiative come true. “This club is a product of the deep commitment of its excellence to gender equity and base sports development,” said Integoke. She emphasized that Pacesetter Queens is more than a team: it is a platform for empowerment and representation.
The presentation presented the presentation of the modern and symbolic logo of the club, which reflects the strength, unity and ambition: the club features hope to embody inside and out of the field.
The technical staff and the newly appointed back room is a combination of experience and professionalism, directed by chief coach Akinwunmi Obajimi, with Damilola Olaitan Badmus and Zaccheaus Aderoju as assistant coaches. The inclusion of the goalkeeper coach certified by the FIFA foluso Ajayi and the UEFA/CAF’s license officer, Grace Towobola, further underlines the club’s commitment to technical excellence.
As part of its strategic roadmap, Adegoke revealed a period of trial of one month to explore talent, followed by the official assignment of a club bus and full access to the facilities of the Adamasingba and Olubadan stadium. Governor Makinde will carry out the official flag of the club in the coming weeks.
The goodwill messages of former snapshot Mutiu Adouju and the president of Oyo Fa, Oba James Odeniran, reinforced the optimism that Pacesetter Queens FC could become a model of how initiatives backed by the State can foster professionalism, pride and passion in women’s football.
To conclude, Adegoke asked the people of the state of Oyo and Nigeria in general to meet behind Pacesetter Queens FC. “Let’s support this club not only as fans, but as believers in the future where women’s football takes the center of the stage,” he said.
