Today we get together to cry and celebrate the house that goes from Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
I say it celebrates why we greet one of the main leaders of Nigeria, who lived every day of his life, up to the age of 96, fighting for a better Nigeria with true federalism.
Living for a long time is one thing. Living for a long time and effectively is another.
Pa Ayo Adebanjo lived for a long time.
Pa Ayo Adebanjo was the gladiator of the truth of Nigeria.
We celebrate the exit of a national icon; a true consciousness of our nation; A famous reputation democratic gladiator.
A man who fought in the battle lines to expand the democratic space, to give voice to the forgotten and marginalized.
A man who has always said the truth to power, who has questioned the status quo, always calling us the best we can be as a nation.
An impeccable man of integrity, whose words like blades, sharp with honesty, intention and patriotism, have cut the hardest of hearts.
Papa Ayo Adebanjo was a pioneer who modeled our national conscience, has always aroused us from our democratic sleep and reminded us of never removing the ancient reference points that will ensure the national unity of Nigeria.
As a great political gladiator, Pa Ayo Adebanjo fought for the emergence of a more fair, fair, inclusive and better Nigeria.
Gladiators have scars to show for their battles. Pa Ayo Adebanjo had many scars.
But like the famous gladiators, he raised himself triumphantly.
He was homeless.
He had remained without fear.
He remained bold.
He remained courageous.
He was aroused!
For all his incredible life, Pa Ayo Adebanjo was a bastion of truth.
Like Giovanni Battista in the Sacred Bible, Pa Ayo Adebanjo was a lonely voice in the desert that announced the coming of a new Nigeria that will be bigger than him.
A Nigeria that we will all be proud of:
Where with true federalism, everyone, regardless of ethnicity, religion or region, will work together for everyone’s improvement;
where all forms of scismes will end;
where the United will form a nation with inclusion;
where nobody will dominate the other;
Where our bonds will be too strong to be fragile among the fires that are sometimes bladder of national discourse.
PA Adebanjo, unlike Giovanni Battista, have not been beheaded.
You just came home.
Pope ADOBANJO, your memory survives.
Your words as fire carbon will continue to burn in our national consciousness.
Your indomitable spirit will continue to inspire us.
Your life was not rich in money, but full of values.
Values for which it is worth fighting.
Thanks for your numerous sacrifices.
Thanks for being a great inspiration.
Thank you for having lived such a precious legacy and for talking to great honor.
Goodbye, Pope Adebanjo, the gladiator of truth in Nigeria.
May God comfort your dear wife, mom adobanjo, your children and grandchildren.
May your soul rest in peace in the breast of God, your creator. Amen.
