According to reports, the passengers aboard the Air Peace Flight P47123 faced a terrifying ordeal on Tuesday 4 June, when their plane lost control in mid -air.
The flight was born from Abuja and was about to end in Lagos.
Among those aboard the plane there was the former candidate for the presidency of the Labor Party, Peter Obi.
According to reports, he kept calm while Ballyhoo was in the cabin.
The plane, which took off from the Azikiwe International Airport of Abuja at 12:59, 24 minutes behind the 12:35 program, expected to land at Murtala at 13:55.
However, he did not touch until 14:25 after several failed landing attempts that left the passengers fearing the worst.
According to the aviation works, the pilot fought to stabilize the plane, which quarreled for almost 30 minutes.
The witnesses on board described the chaos that was followed as traumatizing.
“People screamed, praying and calling God. The plane continued to turn as if he had lost the direction,” said a woman visibly shocked to the journalist, refusing her disclosed name.
Another witness said: “At a certain point, it seemed that we would crash on the roofs. He was pure terror”.
According to reports, Peter Obi, who was sitting in the economic class during the flight, was seen to comfort those that surrounded him.
A passenger said, “He remained composed and continued to tell everyone to remain calm. His voice alone gave many of us hope when he seemed that everything was lost.”
The businessman Dr. Benson Onuwaje, sitting in the first class, got up halfway through the flight and led the passengers in fervent prayer.
“He invoked the name of God and assured us that we would land safe,” said Mathew Adekunle, another traveler on the flight. “That prayer gave everyone a fragment of strength.”
