Former Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon has encouraged the team to stay positive after their 1-0 loss to Brazil in their opening match at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Okon praised the team’s efforts and urged them to focus on their upcoming matches rather than dwell on the defeat.
He believes the team can still advance from the group stage if they learn from their mistakes and maintain their determination.
“I congratulate them for only losing 1-0. They should think about the next match, correct their mistakes and keep hope,” Okon said.
“They must raise their heads, aim for victory and remember that if we win all our matches, we can still advance from the group.”
The Super Falcons will face the defending champions, who previously defeated Japan 2-1.
Currently, Spain and Brazil lead Group B with 3 points each, while Japan and Nigeria have no points.
The upcoming matches are crucial for the Super Falcons as they strive to progress in the tournament.
