Passport expenses for increases in the Nigerian government of 100%

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a revision of the 100 %Standard Nigerian passport taxport taxes, in force from 1 September 2025.

According to a declaration signed by the Head of Public Service Relations, ACI as Akinlabi, the adjustment was aimed at maintaining the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport.

Based on the new rates, the applications submitted to Nigeria would cost N100.000 for a 32 -page passport with a five -year validity and ₦ 200,000 for a 64 -page passport with a validity of 10 years.

However, passport taxes for the Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $ 150 for the 32 -page passport with five -year validity and $ 230 for the 64 -page passport with a validity of 10 years.

The declaration states: “In an attempt to support the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport, the immigration service of Nigeria announces a revision to the rise in Nigerian standard passport taxes, scheduled for September 1, 2025.

“The revision that affects only on the passport demand tax made in Nigeria, has now set a new commission threshold for 32 pages with a validity of 5 years at N100,000 and 64 pages with a validity at 10 years to N200,000.

“In the meantime, the Nigerian passport demand fees made by the Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $ 150 for 32 pages with a validity at 5 years and $ 230 for 64 pages with a validity at 10 years.

“The service reiterates its commitment to balance the provision of the quality service with the need to ensure that passport services are accessible to all Nigerians.”
