PDP inaugurated the 119 -member convention committee, warning the penyabot

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday inaugurated the National Convention Committee consisting of 119 people in Abuja.

The party warned individuals or groups who worked to sabotage the event scheduled for November in Ibadan, the state of Oyo, to avoid its path.

The 119 -member committee was led by the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, with his colleagues in Osun’s state, Ademola Adeleke, as Deputy Chairperson.

The Governor of Enugu’s state, Peter Mbah, will serve as secretary.

The National Chairperson of PDP, Umar Damagum, inaugurated the committee and described it as a step forward to strengthen the PDP through the voting instrument.

Damagum said because he took leadership, the party had pursued reconciliation and worked to position its structure again.

He stressed that regardless of challenges, PDP remains the leading voice of the opposition and hope of the Abadi Millions of Nigerians.

Damagum said: “Not because I enjoyed being underestimated, but because at the time -when critical, I chose restraint, not because of weakness, but as a sacrifice of awareness for the survival and stability of our party.

“Ironically, many destructive voices come from individuals who have received many benefits from PDP. They are trying to sow and weaken our structure.”

He, however, said that PDP was not damaged or defeated, but marched forward and was better prepared to reclaim power in 2027.

He assigned the committee to allow justice, justice, justice, and unity of objectives to be the principle of their guidelines.

“Let’s set aside complaints and personal ambitions that do not serve collective interest,” Damagum stated.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of the PDP Governor Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed from the state of Bauchi, said the forum believed the convention was on the track.

Mohammed said while the governor believed in consensus and accommodation, they would no longer tolerate anyone who accepted the party.

“We are able to navigate this party outside of crime, outside the arrogance, and outside the impunity of several people.

“We cannot keep quiet and let people take us to the slaughterhouse. That is their job. And our job is to make sure we do not go to the slaughterhouse,” said the Governor.
