PDP inaugurated the National Convention Zoning Committee

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday inaugurated the National Convention Zoning Committee to determine the regulation of zoning for its national officials ahead of the November national convention.

The committee was led by the Governor of the State of Bayelsa, Douye himself.

The duo of the Governor of the State of Zamfara, Dauda Lawal, and his colleagues in the state of Plateau, Caleb Mutfwang, each will function as deputy chairman and secretary.

Acting Chairman of the National PDP, Umar Damagum, who inaugurated the committee in Abuja, assigned members to be guided by justice, inclusiveness, and stronger party vision.

He described the committee as a “machine room” that would lay the political foundation for the next PDP leadership, said his actions would form the party’s ability to serve the Nigerians and win the election.

The chairman notes that PDP operates in a dynamic and sometimes turbulent political field, which always demands the best from the party.

He remembered that in recent times, PDP faced the changes in leadership and defeat of some of its members, but the party remained a central force in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

Damagum said: “That is why the next National Work Committee (NWC) must not only have to be representative, it must be visionary, brave, and proactive.

“We need leaders of integrity, creativity, and capacity. We must place individuals who inspire self -confidence, mobilize effectively, and speak with the hope of the Nigerians.

“Our zoning process must reflect justice, justice, and strategic thinking, and strengthen our unity, respect loyalty, and position us for election victory.

“I believe that the Zoning Committee will approach their duties with wisdom, a long -way view, and a full understanding of a greater picture: PDP for anyone, and PDP is above any personal interests.”

He advised the committee to make decisions that would re -turn hope and inspire trust in people, saying that politics demands pragmatism, not sentiment.

The Secretary of the National Organizing, Umar Bature, said the committee was very important because it would lay the foundation for the future of the PDP in the coming years and the catalyst that would bring life back to the party.
